Keyword rank checker

Enter a keyword and the page you want ranking for it. We scan the top 100 Google results and report the exact position, plus everyone ranking above you.

What this keyword rank checker does

Enter the keyword you want to rank for and the page that should be ranking for it. The tool scans the first 100 organic results for that keyword in the country, language and device you choose, then reports the exact position of your page, the URL that is actually ranking, and every domain sitting above you in the top ten. If the page is nowhere in the top 100, it tells you that plainly instead of guessing.

How to read your position

  • 1–3 — where the overwhelming majority of clicks go. Defend it.
  • 4–10 — page one. Title tags and links to the exact URL move you up.
  • 11–20 — page two. Almost no clicks, but the cheapest wins on your whole site.
  • 21–50 — ranking but not competitive. Improve intent match, then build links steadily.
  • 51–100 — indexed for the term only. Check the page really targets this query.
  • Not found — too new, too thin, or the keyword is far above your current authority.

Why your position can differ from what you see in your browser

The results you personally see are shaped by your location, your search history, your logged-in Google account and your device. This checker requests results with personalisation switched off and no search history, from the country and language you select, so it gives you the neutral baseline rather than your own bubble. Small day-to-day movement of one or two positions is normal for almost every keyword, so track the trend across weeks rather than reacting to a single check.

Check the market and device that actually matter

Rankings are not global. A page on page one in the United Kingdom can be on page three in the United States, and mobile results routinely differ from desktop for the same query. Run the check on the country your customers are in, and on mobile if that is where your traffic comes from, before you decide a page has a problem.

Two pages competing for the same keyword

If the tool reports that a different page on your site ranks above the one you entered, that is keyword cannibalisation. Google has picked a URL you did not intend. Decide which page should own the keyword, point your internal links at it, and either consolidate or clearly differentiate the other page. Our internal link opportunity finder shows exactly where to add those links.

What to do after the check

A position is a diagnosis, not a fix. Confirm the page can be indexed and crawled with the Google index checker, review the title and description with the SEO meta tag analyzer, and check your keyword usage with the keyword density checker. Then estimate what movement is worth in traffic and revenue with the keyword traffic & CTR estimator.

Stuck on page two?

Page-two keywords are where link building pays back fastest, because the page has already proven it can rank — it simply lacks authority. Send us your rank check and we will tell you which keywords are within reach and exactly which links the page needs to get there.

Found problems you would rather not fix yourself?

Send us the scan output. We will tell you which issues actually affect rankings, and quote the work if you want it handled.
